Botulinum toxin is a natural protein that temporarily relaxes the neuromuscular connection. The muscle relaxes, which smooths mimic wrinkles or reduces excessive muscle activity (e.g. in bruxism).
How long does the effect last?
The effect appears in 3 to 7 days, with the full effect after 2 weeks. Duration is 3 to 6 months, depending on the application site, dose and individual.
Is the application painful?
The procedure is quick and very tolerable — we use very thin needles. On request we apply a topical anaesthetic cream.
