How does teeth whitening work?
Teeth whitening is based on active ingredients of carbamide peroxide or hydrogen peroxide, which penetrate through enamel and break down pigments that cause discoloration. The procedure is safe when performed by a dentist with appropriate concentrations and gum protection.
Before whitening we examine the teeth and gums to assess whether your teeth are suitable for whitening, and perform a professional cleaning so that the enamel is clean and the gel acts evenly. This way we get a predictable result without risks of enamel damage or sensitivity.
Types of whitening in our practice
At-home whitening with custom trays
We make custom whitening trays based on impressions of your teeth. At home you wear them with whitening gel of lower concentration for 10 to 14 days — gradual and very controlled whitening that achieves excellent results.
Whitening of root-canal treated teeth
A tooth that has darkened after root canal treatment can be whitened from the inside.
